Hey, is anybody out there? There’s been a serious lack of postings here lately, sorry about that! I temporarily lost my inspiration… but I think it’s back now.
The good news is that I’ve learned a lot of new tricks in the past few months. It blows my mind that a year ago I thought I knew everything there was to know about Illustrator… The more I learn the more there is to learn. My latest fascination is brushes. Learning to use them is dramatically speeding up my workflow. Sweet!
Artists I’m digging at the moment:
- Stjepan Sejic – This guy is going to bring Topcow out of the gutter. His stuff takes a while to grow on you, but once it does… he’s a powerhouse.
- J. Scott Campbell – Can’t believe I never paid much attention to him before.
- Talent Caldwell – I have no idea what books he’s doing right now, but I like his toon style. I just got a sweet eBay deal on his entire Gen13 run.
Did I mention?
I’m going to be a dad… soon! My wife is due in late October. Better try to get a lot of drawing in before then.

Yep, I’m with ya on that one Sphinx! Baby is here, and he’s amazing. He’s also imposing his own schedule on us, and it can be brutal.
