Here’s my tribute to Neil Gaiman’s Sandman. I tried to give it the look of Teddy Christiansen’s drawings. His was the most stylized, fragile, and tragic version–in my opinion– and it was perfect for The Kindly Ones.
Unlike most of my work, this started with a sketch on paper. I redrew it in Illustrator, colored in Painter, and added some adjustment layers in Photoshop.

This looks great. My daughter said it looks like its from Nightmare before Christmas. She four though, so what does she know.

Your 4 year old has a good point! Those Nightmare Before Xmas spirals seem to weasel their way in to a lot of my images. Thanks for stopping by.
