This one?s been coming together slowly for a few days now. It?s X-23, Wolverine?s female clone. I?d never heard of her before, but she kicked some serious butt in Messiah CompleX.

Ugh? Backgrounds are tedious! But it feels lazy to make an image without one, so I usually try to throw one in. The idea here is the Xavier Institute in winter.

I read somewhere this week that an art blog should be more than just re-posts of images available elsewhere… Good idea, I thought.

Here’s a look into my process on one of the pinups that I’m working on. I try to spend about 1 or 2 hours in the early morning doing vector drawing every day. This one came together over about 2 days–one for the pose, and another playing around with different hair and faces.

The finished version will appear someday… still need to throw in an icy background and then do the color.
